Spring Break Campout

Spring Break 2009
Okay so this trip will go down in history. Janie called me and said so want to go camping? We haven't really been camping hardly at all since we got the cabin. We were so excited to go, but since it was March there was still snow up north. Corri decided that we would go to Crown King to camp because his friend had told him there was a great place to camp and ride. So we headed out about 7pm on a Thursday night. We drove until the turn off and I thought wow we are here already? Ha ha! We drove up these switchback roads SLOW for hours. I had our truck and large trailer, Janie had her truck and large enclosed trailer, and Corri had borrowed his friends truck and it was pulling their fifth wheel. So needless to say we were taking it easy. We turned around these large trucks and trailers no joke like 6 times. We got out quads to finally go looking for a spot since the trailers were so hard to turn around. At about 5am we decided this was not for us. Corri had turned sharp (because he had no choice) and took out the tail bed of his friends brand new truck. We had to take off the new tool box and put it on our trailer. So sad! So we headed back down and found a place to pull over and just get some sleep. It was about 7am when our heads hit the pillow. Before we could go to sleep Corri and Mark went out to turn on the generator. Corri and Mark came it looking even more sad then before. The Generator had pretty much blown up, sparks and all. So we went to sleep. After 3 hours of sleep we got up and tried to figure out what we were going to do. We drove up to Pivot Rock and all the roads were closed due to snow EVERYWHERE. We ended up at this great spot just south of Strawberry. We love it and will for sure return! We had so much fun riding, cooking, watching movies, sitting around the campfire, and just relaxing. It was the perfect spot. Even though it took 14 hours to get to it it was worth it. I can't wait to go camping again but NEVER to Crown King again lol. When we got home Corri found out that we were just a few miles away from the wonderful camping area. I don't think I will ever find it, because I will never go back. What a night!

All the kids what a bunch of cuties!
